GUADALAJARA, Jun. 11, 1970 (AMP) — Mexico 70 : England defeated Czechoslovakia by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Thursday afternoon at the Jalisco Stadium in Guadalajara.
45 minutes of play and neither the Englishs nor the Czechoslovaks have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by English forward Allan Clarke on penalty in the 50th minute.
