ROSARIO, Jun. 21, 1978 (AMP) — Argentina 78 : Argentina defeated Peru by a big score of 6-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a World Cup second round game on Wednesday night at the Estadio Gigante de Arroyito in Rosario.
Mario Kempes and Leopoldo Luque scored dual goals
Argentina dominated the first half thanks to goals from Kempes ('21) and Tarantini ('43). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Argentines further widened their lead in the second period by scoring four times (Kempes '49, Luque '50, '72 and Houseman '67).
