BUENOS AIRES, Jun. 10, 1978 (AMP) — Argentina 78 : Italy defeated Argentina by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Saturday night at the Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Italian forward Roberto Bettega in the 67th minute.
