ELCHE, Jun. 15, 1982 (AMP) — Spain 82 : Hungary defeated El Salvador by a big score of 10-1 (halftime: 3-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Tuesday night at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero in Elche.
László Kiss scored tripple goals
Hungary dominated the first half thanks to goals from Nyilasi ('4), Pölöskei ('11) and Fazekas ('23). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Hungarians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring many times (Tóth '50, Fazekas '54, Kiss '69, '72, '76, Szentes '70 and Nyilasi '83).
The result put the Hungarians top of Group C with 2 points. In their next game, Hungary will meet third-placed Argentina at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero on June 18, while El Salvador will face Belgium.
