ELCHE, Jun. 22, 1982 (AMP) — Spain 82 : Belgium tied 1-1 with Hungary (halftime: 0-1), in a World Cup group stage game on Tuesday night at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero in Elche.
The Hungarians started off well by taking the lead thanks to Hungarian defender József Varga in the 27th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Belgium with a saving goal from Belgian forward Alexandre Czerniatynski in the 76th minute.
