ALICANTE, Jun. 18, 1982 (AMP) — Spain 82 : Argentina defeated Hungary by a score of 4-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Friday night at the Estadio José Rico Pérez in Alicante.

Argentina dominated the first half thanks to goals from Bertoni ('26) and Maradona ('28). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Argentines further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Maradona '57 and Ardiles '60).
