BILBAO, Jun. 25, 1982 (AMP) — Spain 82 : England defeated Kuwait by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Friday afternoon at the San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao.

All the action happened in the first half, with English striker Trevor Francis goal in the 27th minute.

England advance to the next round of the ongoing FIFA World Cup. Kuwait is eliminated.
