TOLUCA, Jun. 4, 1986 (AMP) — Mexico 86 : Paraguay defeated Iraq by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Wednesday at the Estadio Nemesio Díez in Toluca.
All the action happened in the first half, with Paraguayan midfielder Julio César Romero goal in the 35th minute.
The result put the Paraguayans second in Group B with 2 points. In their next game, Paraguay will meet group leaders Mexico at the Estadio Nemesio Díez on June 7, while Iraq will face Belgium.
