TOLUCA, Jun. 8, 1986 (AMP) — Mexico 86 : Belgium defeated Iraq by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Sunday at the Estadio Nemesio Díez in Toluca.
Belgium dominated the first half thanks to goals from Scifo ('16) and Claesen ('21 on penalty). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Belgians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by in the th minute.
