TOLUCA, Jun. 11, 1986 (AMP) — Mexico 86 : Paraguay tied 2-2 with Belgium (halftime: 0-1), in a World Cup group stage game on Wednesday at the Estadio Nemesio Díez in Toluca.
The Belgians started off well by taking the lead thanks to Belgian midfielder Franky Vercauteren in the 30th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, and despite Veyt goal ('59) in the second period, they could not prevent a comeback by Paraguay with dual goals from Paraguayan forward Roberto Cabañas ('50 and '76.
