MONTERREY, Jun. 12, 1986 (AMP) — Mexico 86 : Spain defeated Algeria by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Thursday at the Estadio Tecnológico in Monterrey.
Ramón Calderé scored dual goals
Spain dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Ramón Calderé in the 15th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Spaniards further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Calderé '68 and Eloy '70).
