NEZAHUALCOYOTL, Jun. 4, 1986 (AMP) — Mexico 86 : Denmark defeated Scotland by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Wednesday afternoon at the Estadio Neza 86 in Nezahualcoyotl.
Scotland made the Danes doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Danish forward Preben Elkjær Larsen in the 57th minute.
The result put the Dane top of Group E with 2 points. In their next game, Denmark will meet second-placed Uruguay at the Estadio Neza 86 on June 8, while Scotland will face Germany.
