SUWON, Jun. 13, 2002 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 : Brazil defeated Costa Rica by a score of 5-2 (halftime: 3-1), in a World Cup group stage game on Thursday afternoon at the Suwon World Cup Stadium.
Ronaldo scored dual goals
Brazil dominated the first half thanks to goals from Ronaldo ('10, '13) and Edmílson ('38). Leading 3-1 at the break, the Brazilians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Rivaldo '62 and Júnior '64).
