SEOUL, Jun. 13, 2002 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 : Turkey defeated China by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Thursday afternoon at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
Turkey dominated the first half thanks to goals from Şaş ('6) and Korkmaz ('9). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Turks further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Davala with just 5 minutes remaining in regulation time.
