YOKOHAMA, Jun. 13, 2002 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 : Ecuador defeated Croatia by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Thursday night at the International Stadium Yokohama.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Ecuadorian midfielder Édison Méndez in the 48th minute.
