FRANKFURT, Jun. 10, 2006 (AMP) — Germany 2006 : England defeated Paraguay by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Saturday afternoon at the Waldstadion in Frankfurt.
All the action happened in the first half, with Paraguayan defender Carlos Gamarra own goal in the 3rd minute.
The result put the English top of Group B with 3 points. In their next game, England will meet Trinidad and Tobago at the Waldstadion on June 15, while Paraguay will face Sweden.
