KAISERSLAUTERN, Jun. 20, 2006 (AMP) — Germany 2006 : Paraguay defeated Trinidad and Tobago by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Tuesday night at the Fritz-Walter-Stadion in Kaiserslautern.
Paraguay dominated the first half as a result of the unfortunate own goal scored by defender Brent Sancho in the 25th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Paraguayans further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Cuevas with just 4 minutes remaining in regulation time.
