GELSENKIRCHEN, Jun. 12, 2006 (AMP) — Germany 2006 : Czech republic defeated the United States by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Monday night at the Arena AufSchalke in Gelsenkirchen.
Tomas Rosicky scored dual goals
Czech republic dominated the first half thanks to goals from Koller ('5) and Rosicky ('36). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Czechs further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Rosicky in the 76th minute.
The result put the Czech top of Group E with 3 points. In their next game, Czech republic will meet Ghana at the Arena AufSchalke on June 17, while the United States will face Italy.
