NUREMBERG, Jun. 22, 2006 (AMP) — Germany 2006 : Ghana defeated the United States by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 2-1), in a World Cup group stage game on Thursday afternoon at the Frankenstadion in Nuremberg.

All the action happened in the first half, with goals from Haminu Draman ('22) and Stephen Appiah ('47 on penalty).

Ghana advance to the Round of 16. USA is eliminated.
