HANOVER, Jun. 23, 2006 (AMP) — Germany 2006 : Switzerland defeated South Korea by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Friday night at the Niedersachsenstadion in Hanover.
Switzerland dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by defender Philippe Senderos in the 23rd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Swisss further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Frei in the 77th minute.
