World Cup 2006 : Tunisia and Saudi Arabia play out 2-2 draw

MUNICH, Jun. 14, 2006 (AMP) — Germany 2006 : Tunisia tied 2-2 with Saudi Arabia (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Wednesday night at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

The Tunisians started off well by taking the lead thanks to Tunisian forward Ziad Jaziri in the 23rd minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, and despite Jaïdi goal ('90) in the second period, they could not prevent a comeback by Saudi Arabia with goals by Yasser Al-Qahtani ('57) and Sami Al-Jaber ('84).

The result left both teams tied in the second place of Group H with one point. In their next game, Saudi Arabia will meet Ukraine at the Allianz Arena on June 19, while Tunisia will face Spain.
