STUTTGART, Jun. 19, 2006 (AMP) — Germany 2006 : Spain defeated Tunisia by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 0-1), in a World Cup group stage game on Monday night at the Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion in Stuttgart.
Fernando Torres scored dual goals
Tunisia had started off well by taking the lead in the 8th minute with a goal by midfielder Jawhar Mnari. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the Spaniards nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring three times in the second period (Raúl '71 and Torres '76, '90 on penalty).
The result put the Spaniard top of Group H with 6 points. Tunisia is third with one point. In their last game, Spain will meet Saudi Arabia at the Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion on June 23, while Tunisia will face Ukraine.
