PRETORIA, Jun. 23, 2010 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 : The United States defeated Algeria by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Wednesday afternoon at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.
45 minutes of play and neither the Americans nor the Algerians have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by American midfielder Landon Donovan in stoppage time.
