NELSPRUIT, Jun. 20, 2010 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 : Italy tied 1-1 with New Zealand (halftime: 1-1), in a World Cup group stage game on Sunday afternoon at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.
One goal for both sides in the first half, Iaquinta ('29 on penalty) for Italy, Smeltz ('7) for New Zealand and none in the second.
The result left both teams tied in the second place of Group F with 2 points. In their last game, New Zealand will meet group leaders Paraguay at the Mbombela Stadium on June 24, while Italy will face Slovakia.
