JOHANNESBURG, Jun. 21, 2010 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 : Spain defeated Honduras by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Monday night at the Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg.
David Villa scored dual goals
Spain dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward David Villa in the 17th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Spaniards further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Villa in the 51st minute.
The result put the Spaniard second in Group H with 3 points. Honduras is bottom with no points. In their last game, Spain will meet group leaders Chile at the Ellis Park Stadium on June 25, while Honduras will face Switzerland.
