RIO DE JANEIRO, Jun. 18, 2014 (AMP) — Brazil 2014 : Chile defeated Spain by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Wednesday afternoon at the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.

All the action happened in the first half, with goals from Eduardo Vargas ('20) and Charles Aránguiz ('43).

The result put the Chilians second in Group B with 6 points. Spain is bottom with no points. In their last game, Chile will meet group leaders the Netherlands at the Maracanã Stadium on June 23, while Spain will face Australia.
