CURITIBA, Jun. 23, 2014 (AMP) — Brazil 2014 : Spain defeated Australia by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Monday afternoon at the Arena da Baixada in Curitiba.
Spain dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward David Villa in the 36th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Spaniards further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Torres '69 and Mata '82).
