PORTO ALEGRE, Jun. 15, 2014 (AMP) — Brazil 2014 : France defeated Honduras by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Sunday afternoon at the Beira-Rio Stadium in Porto Alegre.
Karim Benzema scored dual goals
France dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Karim Benzema in the 45th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Frenchs further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Valladares '48/own and Benzema '72).
The result put the French top of Group E with 3 points. In their next game, France will meet second-placed Switzerland at the Beira-Rio Stadium on June 20, while Honduras will face Ecuador.
