YEKATERINBURG, Jun. 15, 2018 (AMP) — Russia 2018 : Uruguay defeated Egypt by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Friday afternoon at the Central Stadium in Yekaterinburg.
Egypt made the Uruguayans doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Giménez with one minute left in regular time.
The result put the Uruguayans second in Group A with 3 points. In their next game, Uruguay will meet Saudi Arabia at the Central Stadium on June 20, while Egypt will face Russia.
