SAMARA, Jun. 25, 2018 (AMP) — Russia 2018 : Uruguay defeated Russia by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Monday night at the Cosmos Arena in Samara.
Uruguay dominated the first half thanks to goals from Suárez ('10) and Cheryshev ('23 own). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Uruguayans further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Cavani seconds before the end of regulation.
