SAINT PETERSBURG, Jun. 15, 2018 (AMP) — Russia 2018 : Iran defeated Morocco by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Friday night at the Krestovsky Stadium in Saint Petersburg.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Moroccan forward Aziz Bouhaddouz into his own net in stoppage time.
The result put the Iranians top of Group B with 3 points. In their next game, Iran will meet Spain at the Krestovsky Stadium on June 20, while Morocco will face Portugal.
