KAZAN, Jun. 20, 2018 (AMP) — Russia 2018 : Spain defeated Iran by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Wednesday night at the Kazan Arena.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Spanish forward Diego Costa in the 54th minute.
The result put the Spaniard top of Group B with 4 points. Iran is third with 3 points. In their last game, Spain will meet Morocco at the Kazan Arena on June 25, while Iran will face Portugal.
