World Cup 2018 : Portugal held to a 1-1 draw by Iran but qualifies for the Round of 16
SARANSK, Jun. 25, 2018 (AMP) — Russia 2018 : Iran tied 1-1 with Portugal (halftime: 0-1), in a World Cup group stage game on Monday night at the Mordovia Arena in Saransk.
The Portugueses started off well by taking the lead thanks to Portuguese forward Ricardo Quaresma in the 45th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Iran with a saving goal from Iranian forward Karim Ansarifard on penalty in the 90th minute.
