Championship (Week 28) : Newcastle beats Brighton 2-1

ENGLAND, Feb. 28, 2017 (AMP) — Championship / Match day 28: After two straigth victories against Barnsley and Reading, the Seagulls lost 2-1 against Newcastle.

Brighton & Hove Albion had started off well by taking the lead in the 14th minute with a goal by forward Glenn Murray on penalty. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the Magpies nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Diamé '81 and Pérez '89).

Newcastle United climbed to first place with 73 points from 34 games, a 2-point lead over runner-up Brighton and Hove Albion FC.
