ENGLAND, Apr. 24, 2017 (AMP) — Championship / Match day 44: After losing 3-1 to Ipswich Town on April 17, the Magpies bounced back with a 4-1 victory over Preston this Monday.
Ayoze Pérez scored dual goals
Newcastle dominated the first half thanks to goals from Pérez ('7) and Atsu Christian ('45). Leading 2-1 at the break, the Magpies further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Ritchie '65/penalty and Pérez '67).
Newcastle United remains in second place with 88 points from 44 games, 4 points behind Brighton and Hove Albion FC.
