RECIFE, Jun. 16, 2013 (AMP) — Brazil 2013 : Spain defeated Uruguay by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a Confederations Cup group stage game on Sunday night at the Arena Pernambuco in Recife.
Spain dominated the first half thanks to goals from Pedro ('20) and Soldado ('32). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Spaniards further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by in the th minute.
The result put the Spaniard top of Group B with 3 points. In their next game, Spain will meet Tahiti at the Arena Pernambuco on June 20, while Uruguay will face Nigeria.
