RIO DE JANEIRO, Jun. 20, 2013 (AMP) — Brazil 2013 : Spain defeated Tahiti by a big score of 10-0 (halftime: 4-0), in a Confederations Cup group stage game on Thursday afternoon at the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
Fernando Torres served up another goal feast
Spain dominated the first half thanks to goals from Torres ('5, '33), Silva ('31) and Villa ('39). Leading 4-0 at the break, the Spaniards further widened their lead in the second period by scoring six times (Villa '49, '64, Torres '57, '78, Mata '66 and Silva '89).
The result put the Spaniard top of Group B with 6 points. Tahiti is bottom with no points. In their last game, Spain will meet second-placed Nigeria at the Maracanã Stadium on June 23, while Tahiti will face Uruguay.
