One goal for both sides in the first half, Quaresma ('34) for Portugal, Hernández ('42) for Mexico and one each in the second, Cédric ('86) for Portugal, Moreno ('90) for Mexico.
The result left both teams tied in the second place of Group A with one point. In their next game, Mexico will meet New Zealand at the Kazan Arena on June 21, while Portugal will face Russia.
