Portugal beats New Zealand to advance to Confederations Cup semifinals
SAINT PETERSBURG, Jun. 24, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2017 : Portugal defeated New Zealand by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a Confederations Cup group stage game on Saturday night at the Krestovsky Stadium in Saint Petersburg.
Portugal dominated the first half thanks to goals from Ronaldo ('33 on penalty) and Silva ('37). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Portugueses further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (A. Silva '80 and Nani '90).
