MENDOZA, Jul. 8, 2011 (AMP) — Argentina 2011 : Peru defeated Mexico by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a Copa América group stage game on Friday night at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas in Mendoza.
Mexico made the Peruvians doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Guerrero with just 8 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Peruvians second in Group C with 4 points. Mexico is bottom with no points. In their last game, Peru will meet group leaders Chile at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas on July 12, while Mexico will face Uruguay.
