MENDOZA, Jul. 8, 2011 (AMP) — Argentina 2011 : Uruguay tied 1-1 with Chile (halftime: 0-0), in a Copa América group stage game on Friday night at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas in Mendoza.

No goals in the first half and one each in the second, Pereira ('53) for Uruguay, Sánchez ('64) for Chile.

The result put the Chilians top of Group C with 4 points. Uruguay is second with 2 points. In their last game, Chile will meet third-placed Peru at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas on July 12, while Uruguay will face Mexico.
