MENDOZA, Jul. 12, 2011 (AMP) — Argentina 2011 : Chile defeated Peru by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a Copa América group stage game on Tuesday night at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas in Mendoza.

45 minutes of play and neither the Chilians nor the Peruvians have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Carrillo into his own net in stoppage time.

Chile and Peru both advance to the Quarterfinals.
