La Liga (Week 16) : Villarreal beats Deportivo 3-0
SPAIN, Dec. 21, 2014 (AMP) — La Liga / Match day 16: Five wins in a row for Villarreal. After their success against Getafe, Cordoba, Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid, El Submarino Amarillo continued their sensational form in the La Liga with a 3-0 victory over Deportivo La Coruna this Sunday.
Luciano Vietto scored dual goals
Villarreal dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Mexican midfielder Jonathan dos Santos in the 10th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, El Submarino Amarillo further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Vietto '68, '73).
Villarreal CF climbed to fifth place with 30 points from 16 games, only one point behind Valencia CF.
