La Liga (Week 16) : Espanyol defeats Rayo 3-1
SPAIN, Dec. 20, 2014 (AMP) — La Liga / Match day 16: Two wins in a row for Espanyol. After their 2-1 win against Granada on December 14, Los Periquitos continued their sensational form in the La Liga with a 3-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano this Saturday.
Garcia scored dual goals
Espanyol forward Garcia opened the score in the 9th minute, before seeing Rayo Vallecano catch up in the 45th minute thanks to Baptistao. 1-1 at half time. Los Periquitos eventually won the game in the second period with two more goals by Vazquez ('76) and Garcia ('90).
RCD Espanyol climbed to 10th place with 20 points from 16 games, tie on points with SD Eibar.
