La Liga (Week 30) : Gijon beats Atletico 2-1
SPAIN, Mar. 19, 2016 (AMP) — La Liga / Match day 30: After four straigth victories against Real Madrid, Real Sociedad, Valencia and Deportivo La Coruna, Los Colchoneros lost 2-1 against Sporting Gijon.
Atletico Madrid had started off well by taking the lead in the 29th minute with a goal by French midfielder Antoine Griezmann. Trailing 1-0 at half time, Los Rojiblancos nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Sanabria Antonio '79 and Castro Carlos '89).
Atletico Madrid remains in second place with 67 points from 30 games, 8 points behind FC Barcelona, which has a game in hand.
