La Liga (Week 9) : Real Sociedad and Espanyol play to a 1-1 draw
SPAIN, Oct. 23, 2017 (AMP) — La Liga / Match day 9: The match between Real Sociedad and Espanyol ended in a 1-1 draw on Monday.
Espanyol players started off well by taking the lead thanks to Brazilian forward Baptistao Leonardo in the 9th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Real Sociedad with a saving goal from Real Sociedad midfielder Asier Illarramendi in the 69th minute.
Real Sociedad are down in 9th place with 14 points from 9 games, 2 points behind Sevilla FC.
