Ligue 1 (Week 8) : Lyon defeats Saint-Etienne 2-0
FRANCE, Oct. 2, 2016 (AMP) — Ligue 1 / Match day 8: After losing 1-0 to Lorient on September 24, “Les Gones” bounced back with a 2-0 victory over Saint-Etienne this Sunday.
Lyon dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Spanish midfielder Sergi Darder in the 41st minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, “Les Gones” further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Ghezzal with just 2 minutes remaining in regulation time.
Olympique Lyonnais climbed to fifth place with 13 points from 8 games, only one point behind Toulouse.
