HONIARA, May. 15, 2004 (AMP) — Australia 2004 (Qualifiers) : The Solomon Islands defeated New Caledonia by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2004 Oceania Nations Cup on Saturday afternoon at the Lawson Tama Stadium in Honiara.
The result put the Solomon Islander top of Group 1 with 9 points. New Caledonia is fourth with one point. In their last game, the Solomon Islands will meet second-placed Tahiti at the Lawson Tama Stadium on May 19, while New Caledonia will face the Cook islands.
