HONIARA, May. 17, 2004 (AMP) — Australia 2004 (Qualifiers) : Tahiti defeated Tonga by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2004 Oceania Nations Cup on Monday afternoon at the Lawson Tama Stadium in Honiara.
The result put the Tahitians second in Group 1 with 7 points. Tonga is fourth with 3 points. In their last game, Tahiti will meet group leaders the Solomon Islands at the Lawson Tama Stadium on May 19, while Tonga will face New Caledonia.
