PORTUGAL, Jan. 18, 2015 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 17: 9 wins in a row for Benfica. After their success against Rio Ave, Nacional, Académica Coimbra, Belenenses, Porto, Gil Vicente, Penafiel and Vitoria Guimaraes, the Eagles continued their sensational form in the Primeira Liga with a 4-0 victory over Maritimo this Sunday.

Eduardo Salvio scored dual goals

Benfica dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Argentine forward Eduardo Salvio in the 18th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Eagles further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (John '53, Salvio '57 and Lima '64).

SL Benfica remains in first place with 46 points from 17 games, a 6-point lead over runner-up FC Porto.
